About Us

We are Ruben and Quincy, and in 2013 we started Schildersbedrijf Lares together.

​

We both grew up in the painting trade, with fathers who did the same work.

So it was no surprise that we started painting ourselves as well.

​

The name Lares comes from Ruben's father, Henk Karper. We have adopted his company name. Lares refers to the Roman household gods who protect home and family. That fits well with how we view our work: it must not only look sleek, but also truly protect.

Therefore, we look beyond just the appearance. We want it to be technically sound and for the work to remain in good condition in the long term. This sometimes means that we do not choose the easy solution, but what is truly necessary.

Over the years, we have started doing more than just painting. Think of wall finishing and maintenance, ensuring everything fits together well and you don't have to work with separate parties.

No complicated stories. We simply explain what we see, what the options are, and what we would do. After that, the choice is yours.
